Description
VEGFR1 (Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1) is the receptor for VEGF, VEGFB and PGF. VEGFR1 has a tyrosine-protein kinase activity for signal transduction during vascular development (angiogenesis) and regulation of vascular permeability. VEGFR1 is mainly expressed in vascular endothelial cells but also in peripheral blood monocytes. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Isoforms include a full-length transmembrane receptor isoform and shorter soluble isoforms.
