Description
FPR1 (Formyl Peptide Receptor 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with FPR1 include Susceptibility To Localized Juvenile Periodontitis and Periodontitis 1; Juvenile. Among its related pathways are Peptide ligand-binding receptors and Innate Immune System. GO annotations related to this gene include G-protein coupled receptor activity and RAGE receptor binding. An important paralog of this gene is FPR2. FPR1 High affinity receptor for N-formyl-methionyl peptides (fMLP); which are powerful neutrophil chemotactic factors. Binding of fMLP to the receptor stimulates intracellular calcium mobilization and superoxide anion release. This response is mediated via a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system
