Glypican-3 is a cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycan. Glypican-3 inhibits the dipeptidyl peptidase activity of DPP4, and is involved in the suppression and modulation of growth in predominantly mesodermal tissues and organs. Glypican-3 plays a role in the modulation of IGF2 interactions with its receptor, and is a regulator of growth and tumor predisposition.
