Description
HNF-3b (Hepatocyte nuclear factor 3 beta, forkhead box A2, FoxA2) is a homeodomain containing transcription factor and a member of the Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor family whose members regulate the transcription of numerous hepatocyte genes in adult liver. HNF-3 members bind to DNA as monomers using a winged helix DNA-binding domain. HNF-3b is involved in glucose homeostasis and fat metabolism. It regulates the expression of genes important for glucose sensing in pancreatic beta-cells.
