Description
Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 2 (IGFBP-2) inhibits IGF-mediated growth and developmental rates. IGFBP-2 prolongs the half-life of the IGFs and has been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture. IGFBP-2 alters the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors.
