Description
Interleukin 13 (IL-3) inhibits inflammatory cytokine production. IL-13 synergizes with IL-2 in regulating interferon-gamma synthesis. An Arg130Gln polymorphism is a significant risk factor for asthma development, as this is associated with higher levels of serum total IgE in Chinese allergic rhinitis patients.
