Description
Lysergic acid diethylamid (LSD) is a semisynthetic psychedelic drug derived from ergotamine, a chemical produced in grain fungus that typically grows on rye. LSD is a non-addictive and has effects ranging from altered thinking to spiritual experiences. LSD has played a role both recreationally and medically, having been a key drug in the 1960s counterculture and used on psychiatric patients beginning in 1947.
