Description
Meperidine (Demerol) is a fast acting opioid analgesic drug most commonly used for moderate to sever pain. Once the most common opioid medication used for pain, it is now seldom used due to its adverse side effects (seizures, delirium, neuropsychological effects), as well as the availability of newer and safer prescription pain relieving drugs.
