Description
Mouse anti Human EGF receptor antibody recognizes the epidermal growth factor receptor, also known as proto-oncogene c-ErbB-1 or receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-1, when phosphorylated at tyrosine 1068. EGF R plays a role in numerous cellular processes such as cell proliferation and apoptosis through the activation of downstream signaling pathways (Scaltriti and Baselga 2006). EGF R is autophosphorylated at tyrosine 1068 upon ligand binding and receptor dimerization (Downward et al. 1984; Bishayee et al. 1999).Phosphorylation of this residue is required for binding of Grb2 adaptor protein (Yamauchi et al. 1997).
