Description
Mouse anti EGF receptor antibody recognizes the epidermal growth factor receptor, also known as proto-oncogene c-ErbB-1 or receptor tyrosine-protein kinase erbB-1, when phosphorylated at tyrosine 845. EGF R is a cell surface receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGF R plays a role in numerous cellular processes such as cell proliferation and apoptosis through the activation of downstream signaling pathways (Scaltriti and Baselga 2006). EGF R is phosphorylatedon tyrosine 845 by c-Src kinase (Biscardi et al. 1999). This modification modulates a variety of cellular functions by activating downstream signaling kinases (Sato 2013).
