Description
Myosin is a hexameric protein involved in muscle contraction, which consists of two heavy chains (200kDa), and four light chains (20kDa): two phosphorylated regulatory subunits (MLC2) and two non-phosphorylated subunits (alkali or MLC1 and MLC3 types). Myosin (fast) (myosin light chain 1/3, skeletal muscle isoform, also called MYL1) is mapped to the region 2q32.1-qter.
