Description
Neurofascin is a cell adhesion ankyrin-binding protein, which is involved in neurite extension, axonal guidance, synaptogenesis, myelination and neuron-glial cell interactions. Neurofascin is strongly but transiently up-regulated in oligodendrocytes at the onset of myelinogenesis. The expression declines abruptly once the oligodendrocytes have engaged their target exons. Shorter isoforms (NF155) are also observed. This antibody binds to precursor and NF155 forms.
