PCL2 (Polycomb-like 2, MTF2, M96) is a member of the Polycomb PRC2 protein complex and is important in cell fate decisions and may play a role in recruitment of PRC2 to target genes and histone methylation. PCL2 regulates gene expression patterns controlling self-renewal and commitment in embryonic stem cells and plays a critical role in ESC differentiation and self-renewal. PCL2 contains two PHD fingers.
