Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA, cyclin) is an auxiliary protein of DNA polymerase delta involved in the control of eukaryotic DNA replication. PCNA increases the polymerase's processibility during elongation of the leading strand. Antibodies against PCNA are present in sera from patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
