Description
Peptide transporter 1 (PEPT1 or SLC15A1), a multipass membrane protein from the PTR2/POT transporter family, is involved in the proton-coupled intake of oligopeptides of 2 to 4 amino acids with a preference for dipeptides. PEPT1 is a major component for the absorption of protein digestion end products.
