Description
Protein S100-A1 (S100-A1 or S100 calcium-binding protein A1) binds weakly to calcium but strongly to zinc at different sites. Physiological concentrations of potassium antagonize the binding of both divalent cations, especially the high-affinity calcium-binding sites.
