Description
Selenoprotein W (SELW or Sepw 1), a cytoplasmic protein, is involved in redox-related processes. It plays a role in the myopathies of selenium deficiency. Higher levels are seen in the muscle and brain while lower levels are seen in the spleen and testis. SELW belongs to the SelWTH family and SELW subfamily.
