Description
Secreted frizzled-related protein 1 (sFRP-1) functions as a modulator of Wnt signaling through direct interaction with Wnts. sFRP-1 has a role in regulating cell growth and differentiation in specific cell types. sFRP-1 decreases intracellular beta-catenin levels. sFRP-1 is down-regulated in colorectal and breast tumors, and up-regulated in uterine leiomyomas under high estrogenic conditions.
