Description
Sulfadoxine is sulfonamide antibiotic that inhibits dihydropteroate synthase, blocking the synthesis of folic acid. Sulfadoxine is commonly used in conjunction with pyrimethamine to treat malaria, and is also used with other drugs to treat infections in livestock.
