TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator (TIGAR) is a fructose-biphosphatase. TIGAR lowers cellular levels of fructose 2,6-bisphosphate. TIGAR protects cells against reactive oxygen species and against apoptosis induced by p53/TP53.
