Description
Rabbit polyclonal antibody to VCAM1 also known as INCAM100 whose expression can be detected in the dendritic cells but it is highly expressive in the inflamed vascular endothelium as well as on macrophage. It is found in the alpha9 beta1 integrin vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 complex and sarcolemma. This protein appears to function in leukocyte-endothelial cell adhesion and interacts with integrin alpha-4/beta-1 (ITGA4/ITGB1) on leukocytes and mediates both adhesion and signal transduction. The VCAM1/ITGA4/ITGB1 interaction may play a pathophysiologic role both in immune responses and in leukocyte emigration to sites of inflammation.
