Fortis Technologies has announced the launch of its new 2.5um particle for use in Liquid Chromatography. Manufactured from a pure silica template, Fortis 2.5um particles are designed to be the next step in improving both resolution and speed

2.5um particles allow the analyst to move towards Ultra high pressure chromatography (UHPLC) performance whilst operating on traditional 400bar LC systems. Whilst UHPLC has gained a lot of interest in the past few years not all analyst’s have the ability to move to this instrumentation.

Combined with the companies innovative PACE™ column design or UHPLC hardware, 2.5um particles offer speed and efficiency without compromising loadability and scalability. Comparable to other 2.5um particles in efficiency but providing vastly superior peak shapes and pH stability, Fortis C18 stationary phase allows the ability to operate from pH 1-12.

Initially available as C18 chemistry the range will be expanded to include the companies other innovative bonding technologies allowing the analyst the ability to separate complex mixtures by selectivity as well as efficiency.
