Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc., (ACD/Labs) today launched ACD/AutoChrom for ChemStation and ACD/AutoChrom for Empower™ 2 Software, the first automated method development system for HPLC, UHPLC, and LC/MS. AutoChrom will help chromatographers reduce their method development time from weeks to days, or less.

ACD/AutoChrom software combines instrument control for Agilent and Waters® systems with software for rational, computer-assisted method development. This seamless connection between decision-making tools and instrument control simplifies and streamlines the method development process, first by making it easy to generate complex injection sequences for the instrument, and second, by helping the user make better, more informed decisions about the next experiments to perform.

Unlike previous automated method development systems, AutoChrom software adapts to the chromatographer's workflow, for unparalleled usability. AutoChrom can perform flexible combinations of column, solvent, and buffer screening experiments, as well as method optimization experiments. Component tracking is particularly reliable due to the resolving power provided by LC/MS support. AutoChrom's unique LC/MS spectral-based peak matching algorithms make peak tracking between screening experiments a reality.

"It's very exciting to offer a powerful, consistent automated method development solution compatible with the world's premier chromatographic method development systems," said Michael McBrien, Chromatography Product Manager, ACD/Labs.

This new automated method development software for the world's two most popular chromatographic data systems (CDS) provides users with the power and flexibility to solve the toughest separation problems. Chromatographers will be able to develop better, more robust separation methods, faster than ever with ACD/AutoChrom.
