AchemAsia Draws Process Engineers, Chemists and Many More to Beijing

With 413 registered exhibitors, AchemAsia opens on June 1st, 2010, at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Organizers DECHEMA and CIESC together with their partners expect more than 15,000 visitors at the 8th International Exhibition-Congress on Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

"In regard of the global economic situation, this is a tremendous success and proof of China's important role for the worldwide industrial and scientific community", said Dr. Kurt Wagemann, Executive Director of DECHEMA. "At the same time, this underlines the importance of the process industries within the Chinese economy."

The topics covered in the exhibition and more than 80 lectures in the congress by international experts include sustainability, renewable resources, water treatment, but also innovative technologies like ionic liquids and advanced materials. AchemAsia was launched more than 20 years ago to provide a platform for the process industries in Asia and has developed into the most international event of its kind in the region. The exhibition and congress will start on Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 at 2 p.m. with an opening ceremony and two plenary lectures on sustainability, one of the major topics of this AchemAsia. The event will close on Friday, June 4th, 2010.
