Carestream Molecular Imaging has introduced the new Gel Logic 6000 PRO – a premium system for imaging gel, blots, and plates using multiple modalities including chemiluminescence, UV and multi-wavelength fluorescence, and radioisotopic labels – all in one single, easy to use platform. These modalities can be captured in sequence, which streamlines workflow and offers time savings.

Researchers are no longer limited to 2 or 3 fluorescent channels or restricted to the continuous process of stripping and re-probing blots. The Gel Logic 6000 PRO system comes complete with new Multiplex Analysis Software, a state-of-the art image capture and analysis program that allows researchers to capture, overlay, and analyze data from up to 4 individual layers within an image. This allows for more efficient processes and increases the amount of data that can be extracted from a single experiment.

Other features include:

• A 4.2MP Camera with fixed lens (f/0.95) for rapid and high resolution imaging – this results in crisp imaging and excellent sensitivity for chemiluminescence and fluorescent applications.
• An automated broadband UV trans-illuminator sample platform with 3X zoom for samples (including blots, membranes, and plates) up to 18 x 18 cm.
• LED illumination (including epi-white lights and 5 LED modules) for white light, RGB, and NIR imaging mounted directly to the sample platform, for greater illumination uniformity.

With the Gel Logic 6000 PRO, today’s researchers have the freedom to use the same multi-faceted approach for their in vitro experiments (such as western blotting, DNA gels, chemi blots, fluorescent blots, and more), that they would with microscopy or in vivo experiments.
