Sartorius has developed the second generation of arium® water purification systems to meet the growing needs of advanced laboratories for ultrapure water in applications like ion chromatography (IC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), cell culture, protein purification or in-vitro fertilization to name a few.

In particular, these applications require systems that comply with all inter-national standards while excelling in terms of low costs for consumables. The arium® product family designed for the laboratory sector not only produces reagent-grade water fast, but also more cost-effectively than comparable laboratory water systems. Now, Sartorius has introduced the next generation of arium® water purification systems, along with the new reverse osmosis system and, for the first time, a system for the purification of (for ASTM type II) drinking water based on reverse osmosis and electrochemical desalination technology.

Tailored to the Application

The arium® product family, consisting of a high-performance reverse osmosis system and four different water purification systems, is specially tailored for use in analytical and biotechnology sector applications and additionally features the arium® tower. This creates a space-saving combination of the separate systems (reverse osmosis system, water purification system, inline TOC analyzer as well as a pressure tank) and is optimally suited for self-sufficient production of ultrapure water or even RO water. Thanks to its unique design, only one connection to AC power, a suitable water supply and a drain are all that is necessary. The compact construction saves space in the lab; all user-critical components are easily accessible – which also facilitates routine servicing and maintenance work and makes filter cartridge changes an effortless task.

In terms of TOC and endotoxin levels, all arium® water purification systems guarantee water of ultrapure quality. Depending on the individual features of the model, the system can reduce TOC down to extremely low levels of between <4 ppb and < 1 ppb. A unique combination of active carbon and ultrapure ion-exchange resin in conjunction with a UV oxidation chamber and an ultrafiltration module enables the arium® 611VF system to produce reagent-grade water that reliably reduces endotoxin levels to < 0.001 EU/ml and TOC levels to < 1ppb.

All systems in the arium® product series feature identical dimensions. Users can also choose from an extensive array of accessories, such as a TOC analyzer, remote dispenser or printer. To specifically meet the needs of the pharmaceutical industry, Sartorius additionally offers a complete set of IQ/OQ documents with all arium® systems.
