Aurora Instruments Launched New VERSA 1100 Automated Solid Phase Extraction Workstation at Pittcon 2013
22 Mar 2013Aurora Instruments Ltd was excited to announce the launch of the new VERSA 1100 Automated Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) Workstation at Pittcon 2013. This workstation removes the bottleneck of time-consuming manual extraction protocols, by completing sample preparation, column conditioning, washing and elution, analyte concentration and solvent exchange steps. Extractions can be carried out with either positive pressure or vacuum using 1, 3 and 6 mL columns as well as 96-well extraction plates.
The VERSA 1100 SPE Workstation comes equipped with a 4-channel SyringePipettor with tip changer and up to 8 ReagentDrop channels for the accurate, bulk dispensing of reagents. This feature reduces downstream tip costs and allows users to store large volumes of volatile reagents in sealed reservoirs off-deck. For high throughput laboratories, the advanced design of the robot allows for LIMS system cooperation to identify the required extraction protocols of each sample. The 24-channel nitrogen dryer allows for eluant concentration and solvent exchange protocols, while the wide range of adaptors allows for HPLC and ICP/MS vials to be fully integrated on-deck. The system has been thoughtfully designed to complete solid phase extraction protocols for a wide range of applications including clinical, pharmaceutical, forensic, metabolomics and food safety applications.
