Beckman Coulter, Inc. is sponsoring two workshops at this year’s HPLC Symposium in the Budapest Congress and World Trade Centre, from 19 - 23 June 2011. On Tuesday 21 June from 1.30 to 2.30pm in the Mozart Hall, Beckman Coulter will host a seminar on ‘Supercharging your Mass Spectrometer with CESI-MS’ to introduce the new CESI 8000 High-Performance Separation-ESI Module with OptiMS Technology.

It consists of the first commercial CESI sprayer combined with new capillary electrophoresis instrumentation specifically designed for mass spectrometry (MS). The CESI 8000 gives researchers a robust, high-sensitivity interface of capillary electrophoresis (CE) with MS, while providing a broad range of analyte coverage complementary to LC-MS and GC-MS.

In the workshop, scientists working in the field of proteomics and metabolomics will present their research demonstrating how this new technology enables the identification and analysis of molecules altogether missed with existing approaches.

The company will also host a VIP workshop on ‘Expanding the Reach of Mass Spectrometry Through CESI-MS’ on Sunday, 19 June in the Istavan Halasz Hall from 1pm to 3.30pm. This workshop will discuss the most recent work on the advancements of a novel sheathless interface for coupling capillary electrophoresis and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. The focus will be on optimizing ESI-MS to see what you have been missing.

Beckman Coulter, Inc., based in California, USA, develops, manufactures and markets products that simplify, automate and innovate complex biomedical tests. More than 275,000 Beckman Coulter systems operate in laboratories around the world, supplying critical information for improving patient health and reducing the cost of care. Recurring revenue, consisting of consumable supplies (including reagent test kits), service and operating-type lease payments, represents about 80 percent of the company’s 2010 revenue of $3.7 billion.
