Carestream Molecular Imaging introduces a new advanced optical imaging system aimed at in vitro scientific applications. Featuring a cooled 2.2 megapixel CCD camera and true 16-bit data capture, the Gel Logic 2200 PRO can automate the process of capturing high-quality fluorescent, luminescent and colorimetric lab images—in sample formats such as gels (DNA/Coomassie/Silver stain), membranes, western blots and 96 well plates.

“This fully automated system is part of our strategy to offer in vitro systems that deliver powerful new tools to enhance user productivity and ultimately help advance the pace of research findings,” said John Dellisanti, President, Carestream Molecular Imaging. “Achieving greater productivity helps boosts return on investment for research laboratories around the globe.”

The Gel Logic 2200 PRO leverages a unique new design with intelligent software that has the ability to “think” with and for users. This smart software enables researchers to identify a focal point on a specific image and simply press a button. The system will automatically adjust to the perfect image focal point.

“The Gel Logic 2200 PRO’s versatility adeptly addressed all of our diverse applications and expanded our lab’s imaging capabilities. I was also impressed with the system’s ability to combine high-quality images with simple, easy-to-use software. Our researchers were producing excellent images within minutes. The software is so intuitive a new user can actually produce images without any training or instruction,” said Jeffrey Eckert, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Pediatrics, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
