CEM Corporation, a leading global provider of microwave laboratory instrumentation, is pleased to announce the introduction of the world’s first dedicated microwave peptide cleavage system.

The Accent™ Cleavage System will enable chemists to perform a full peptide cleavage in less than 30 minutes and microcleavages in as little as two minutes, providing the most comprehensive method for determining peptide synthesis quality.

“The microwave technique has become the method of choice for peptide synthesis and there has been significant interest in a system for microwave-enhanced cleavage,” said Michael J. Collins, PhD, president and CEO of CEM Corporation. “The rapid microcleavage enables chemists to get a LC/MS analysis of their peptide in as little as 15 minutes, so they can quickly determine how their synthesis is progressing.”

Every peptide chemist can benefit from this compact and simple to operate system. Accent is fast, improves peptide purities and yields, and enables chemists to use less noisome reagents, which is a major improvement over current cleavage methods. The system accepts 4-, 25- and 35-mL vessels and a cleavage scale of microcleavage to 0.25 mmol.
