UVP’s ChemiDoc-It2 Imagers feature an economical, modular design for chemiluminescent western blot and gel imaging research. Select the camera, light sources, emission filters and other components to configure a system for your applications and budget requirements.

  • Choose from cooled CCD cameras including the new MegaCam 815 camera with 8.1 megapixel resolution and high sensitivity for detecting the finest details in gels and blots.
  • Select from a variety of light sources including epi UV modules, multiple wavelength UV transilluminators as well as blue and white light plates for maximizing gel excitation
  • Add emission filters in the four position filter tray as needed for specific stains

The darkroom is light tight which is essential in low light detection of samples such as western blots. The blots are placed on the chemi tray; no film is required for western blots. View gels and blots through the UV safe gel viewing window. The wide front door and roll out tray provide easy access to the transilluminator and work area.

VisionWorksLS software loads on your computer for image capture and quantitative analysis. Capture functions include sequential integration which captures a series of pictures taken at increasing exposure times. AutoExpose tool automatically sets the perfect image exposure. Templates simplify workflow with user-defined and saved settings which can be recalled in repeat experiments.

Applications of the ChemiDoc-It2 system includes detection, capture and quantitative analysis of chemiluminescent blots (northerns, southerns, westerns), DNA and protein gels, blue light gels, multiplex multi-color gels and fluorescent western blots, TLC gels, colony plates and plants.
