Chrom Perfect User Meeting Update - "One of the best investments we have made"

17 Apr 2006

Justice Laboratory Software, the leading manufacturer of chromatography data systems and chromatography application software, is pleased to announce the success of their latest customer training conference.

The event, held in Savannah, Georgia, was very well attended. Guests commented on the measurable improvements in their chromatography as a direct result of the knowledge gained during the three day conference.

Chrom Perfect® User Meetings are geared towards new and experienced users alike. The 2006 User Meeting was attended by Chrom Perfect® Users working in a wide variety of chromatography fields. The course content included many useful techniques that the attendees could take back to the laboratory and implement immediately. The program started with the basics and progressed to more advanced topics. In addition, important new tools were presented that are currently under development.

Conference attendees met face to face with key JLS product development specialists. Chrom Perfect® User Meetings are an excellent forum for Users and JLS staff to come together and exchange ideas. After all, Chrom Perfect® is a product built by chromatographers, for chromatographers. Users who brought their files to class either went home with a resolution or sent our senior software engineer home with some coding to do. It is the unique needs of the chromatographer that drives product development at Justice Laboratory Software. The 2006 attendees were a lively group doing demanding work and they want to do it faster and easier. They all went home with new knowledge about how to utilize Chrom Perfect® better in their labs and also provided some interesting ideas to JLS that will likely be incorporated into Chrom Perfect® by the time the next User Meeting rolls around.

The feedback from the attendees was very positive.

"Lancaster Laboratories provides comprehensive analytical services in chemistry and microbiology to pharmaceutical and environmental clients worldwide. Founded in 1961, the company is one of the largest single-site commercial testing labs in the US. During the training I learned how to improve the availability of data by utilizing the "Select Data Acquisition Server" feature to remotely reference an acquisition server anywhere on the network. Also I discovered the ability to open multiple instances of the Client Software on one Acquisition computer. This gives us the ability to reference and monitor multiple acquisition PC simultaneously. I learned how to create and distribute the Chrom Perfect® Security files to any station where CP is installed, this increases security and reduces the possibility of errors because user login details and privileges are distributed from a central location. I am very satisfied with the Chrom Perfect® Spirit software, the technical support, and the user meeting. In fact, I have recommended to my management the benefit of attending the annual Chrom Perfect® Spirit user meeting to witness the new features added to the software and to develop an understanding of how to use the software most efficiently. I also would like to extend my gratitude to Dr. Tarik Peterson, Dennis O'Hare, Connie Hellyer, and George Schreiner for their help during the user meeting." - Hisham Omar Abdel-Karim, Lancaster Laboratories, Lancaster, PA, USA

"Chrom Perfect® User Seminars have been one of the best investments we have made. I have attended several and have yet to be disappointed. The seminars are presented in a basic easy-to-understand format by very knowledgeable people who make it a point to assist you in achieving solutions. They make themselves very accessible, and I have seen informal instruction go on after classes ended for the day." -Dana McPheron , ISP CORP, Lima, Ohio

This year we tried something new at our User Meeting. We had our Senior Engineer chair a Special Session for Programmers. We ran it concurrently with the Chrom Perfect® Basics segment on the morning of the first day of the course. Our original idea was to make the User Meeting more productive for Advanced Users by covering a topic Beginning Users would not be interested in. We ended up with several IT professionals attending the Special Session in addition to our Advanced Users. IT staff at large companies are often tasked with archiving and securing the chromatography data, so many of the topics covered in our User Meeting are very relevant to their job function. The Special Session showed them how to retrieve data in many different ways as well as how they might manipulate the ActiveX controls of Chrom Perfect® to make customized GUIs for their techs. Overall I would say this was definitely a successful User Meeting. We all had great fun and made a few new friends. When attendees finally leave to make their way home but stop to tell you they'll be back next year you know they went away feeling their time was well spent. And we had lots of chromatographers saying they'll be back....." - Connie Hellyer, JLS Technical Support Specialist
