Clinical Diagnostics Scientists’ Choice Awards winners announced at ADLM 2024

Thermo Fisher Scientific, Beckman Coulter Clinical Diagnostics, and LGC Clinical Diagnostics among those recognized

The most innovative and effective technologies advancing clinical diagnostics have been recognized during a special ceremony at the ADLM 2024 Clinical Lab Expo, where winners of the 2024 Scientists’ Choice Awards® were announced by the SelectScience® editorial team.

Each year, we invite scientists from around the globe to participate by nominating, reviewing, and voting for the lab products that have had the greatest impact on their work. Read on to reveal your chosen winners.

Best New Clinical Diagnostics Kit or Assay of 2023

The B·R·A·H·M·S™ PlGF plus KRYPTOR™ by Thermo Fisher Scientific was voted Best New Clinical Diagnostics Kit or Assay of 2023.

The award for Best New Clinical Diagnostics Kit or Assay of 2023 goes to the B·R·A·H·M·S™ PlGF plus KRYPTOR™ by Thermo Fisher Scientific, as voted for by scientists around the world. The B·R·A·H·M·S PlGF plus KRYPTOR is an immunofluorescent assay for quantitative determination of placental growth factor (PlGF) and is an aid for the early identification of women at risk of early onset pre-eclampsia in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Best New Clinical Diagnostics Instrumentation of 2023

The DxI 9000 Access Immunoassay Analyzer by Beckman Coulter Clinical Diagnostics was voted Best New Clinical Diagnostics Instrumentation of 2023.

The award for Best New Clinical Diagnostics Instrumentation of 2023 goes to the DxI 9000 Access Immunoassay Analyzer by Beckman Coulter Clinical Diagnostics, as voted for by scientists around the world. The DxI 9000 Analyzer is a high-throughput immunoassay analyzer that sets a new standard for today’s busy labs.

Tonya Martin French, Marketing Manager IA/Chem at Beckman Coulter Clinical Diagnostics accepts the award for Best New Clinical Diagnostics Instrumentation of 2023 at ADLM, in Chicago.

Clinical Diagnostics Editorial Article of the Year

The winning article is titled 'Why diagnostic labs are critical for the transition to value-based healthcare’ and features technology from Roche Diagnostics. This article explores why diagnostic labs are so critical for the transition to value-based healthcare, what barriers need to be overcome, and what healthcare leaders should be looking for in a partner to help them make the shift.

Clinical Diagnostics Application eBook of the Year

The Clinical Diagnostics Application eBook of the Year Award goes to Beckman Coulter Life Sciences for ‘Steps to standardize and streamline leukemia and lymphoma diagnostics’. This application compendium illustrates the current status of diagnostics for hematological malignancies and includes information that will help support your journey to standardize your clinical flow cytometry workflow.

Clinical Diagnostics Webinar of the Year

This year’s Webinar of the Year is awarded to LGC Clinical Diagnostics. The webinar, titled 'Quality Control in Medical Laboratories for Beginners’, available to watch on demand, discusses the basic steps on how to proceed with quality control procedures as part of your laboratory’s daily routine. It highlights some of the current challenges medical laboratories face in regard to quality control, and solutions will be presented to help overcome these challenges.

Clinical Diagnostics Email of the Year

The winner in the Email of the Year category goes to ‘Embrace the certainty in TB testing: Trist QFT-Plus’, from QIAGEN. The winning email featured QIAGEN's QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus (QFT-Plus) which is an in vitro diagnostic aid for the detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.

Clinical Diagnostics Innovative Content of the Year

The winner in the Innovative Content category is Waters for ‘Exploring the value of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry in the clinical lab’. The winning innovative content takes a closer look at how LC-MS/MS instrumentation has advanced to support an increased uptake, shaping the market with IVD labeled instruments and reagent sets.

Clinical Diagnostics Campaign of the Year

LGC Clinical Diagnostics ran an engaging campaign that included webinars, articles, interviews and a webinar content hub that was extremely valuable for our clinical audience.
