Correlation of Spot Density with DNA Quantity Using AphaQuant® Molecular Ladders

2 Apr 2008

DNA analysis is a corner stone of molecular biology and electrophoresis of DNA in agarose gels is among the most commonly used techniques for DNA analysis. Internal standards can be incorporated into DNA agarose gel experiments to maximize the quantitative information acquired in the experiment. DNA ladders are typically employed to determine the molecular size (number of base pairs) of double stranded DNA (dsDNA). This study demonstrates how AlphaQuant Molecular Ladders provide a convenient and fast method to determine size and quantity of unknown DNA samples in agarose gels.
