Leverage lab efficiency with monolithic HPLC columns - Superior analysis of matrix-rich samples
Monday, May 12, 2014 from 12:15pm – 1:15pm, Presenter: Petra Lewits
There is an increasing need for HPLC separations of analytes in complex matrices, providing high resolution, sensitivity and robustness within a relative short analysis time. Although there are HPLC analysis approaches using particulate sorbents available, that enable extremely fast separations. These methods have severe limitations for the analysis of matrix-rich samples. Intensive sample preparation is required to avoid column contamination or clogging, when using particulate column sorbents, independent if fully porous or solid core particles are being used.

HPLC columns made of monolithic silica (Chromolith®) provide significant advantages for the analysis of matrix-rich samples compared to particulate columns. Because of their much higher porosity and their very rigid silica skeleton, monolithic HPLC columns enable very fast HPLC separations with minimal sample preparation and very long column lifetimes. Thus monolithic Chromolith® HPLC columns are the preferred choice for the analysis of matrix-rich samples. Their use provides significant savings of time and money.
