Enabling Rapid Decision Making
18 Oct 2006This year at the 51st Journées Internationales de Biologie (JIB), HORIBA ABX, a major leader in the global market of in-vitro diagnostics solutions will be exhibiting a range of their state-of-the-art hematology and chemistry analysers.
Designed to suit all needs, HORIBA ABX’s offerings vary from high throughput systems that are the work horses of large pathology laboratories, such as the ABX Pentra DX 120 SPS Evolution and the ABX Pentra DF 120 SPS Evolution, through to smaller highly compact systems frequently used in satellite laboratories and clinics, such as the ABX Micros range. In addition, the ABX Pentra 60C+ and ABX Micros 60 alongside other medium throughput analysers such as the ABX Pentra XL 80 are also available and for clinical chemistry, the ABX Pentra 400.
Here at the JIB, HORIBA ABX will be showcasing some of their most recent additions to their expanding product portfolio including the new ABX e-SAT and Micros CRP 200. The new HORIBA ABX e-Sat module has been especially designed to enable clinics and laboratories to easily update their data handling and traceability capabilities. This external data management module contains all the functions needed to manage results securely and easily from local or remote locations. Highly compact and user friendly, the e-Sat can be used with the ABX Micros CRP 200 and the Micros 60. Features such as an easy-to-use colour touch screen, a printer, a barcode reader and a front-facing USB port for connectivity, enable user and patient identification by barcode and keyboard input, in addition to quality control and reagent lot management.
Following the success of the Micros 60, a compact, lightweight hematology analyser which can perform a blood count based on 8 or 18 parameters (CBC or CBC + 3-part DIFF), HORIBA ABX has introduced a unique new analyser to the Micros range. The new ABX Micros CRP 200 requires just 18µl of whole blood for rapid and accurate simultaneous CBC and CRP analysis. As a compact portable system providing complete blood count (CBC + 3 DIFF) plus C-Reactive Protein (CRP) in just 4.5 minutes, the new analyser is a highly useful tool for oncology departments, emergency services and intensive care wards. The microsampling capabilities of the ABX Micros CRP 200 are also beneficial for paediatric investigations such as neonatal sepsis.
The ABX Pentra 400 clinical chemistry analyser incorporates high quality patented spectrophotometry technologies into a minimal footprint and offers a high-precision analysis that fits routine, specific or quality test programme requirements. The ABX Pentra 400 is extremely user friendly with a touch screen user interface and intuitive software which allows real-time viewing of system, reagents and sample status. An increasing range of CE-marked, ready-to-use liquid reagents presented in compact bar-coded cassettes, further simplify operation.
