First Syngene Dyversity 6 in South East Asia to be installed at Singapore - MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre
6 Apr 2008Syngene is proud to announce the upcoming installation of its first Dyversity 6 gel documentation system in South East Asia at the Singapore - MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) Centre by their exclusive distributor, Insta BioAnalytik Pte Ltd.
The SMART Centre is the latest project of Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Singapore, after the successful set up of Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) in 1998. The institute aims to hold the role of a regional hub for MIT and the scientific community in Asia to interact and share their expertise. The first interdisciplinary group of six, Infectious Diseases, started planning their research facility around September 2007. In the gel documentation field, Dyversity 6 was chosen for its versatility, superb resolution and user-friendly analysis software.
The Dyversity 6 is Syngene’s latest addition to its wide range of gel documentation systems. Featuring a 16-bit, 6-million pixel camera, the system is designed for the rapid generation of 2D protein gel images. Compared to conventional laser-based scanning systems, Dyversity 6 is able to separate the highest density of protein spot images and can capture the faintest spot. Coupled with the revolutionary Dymension software, users will be able to analyze protein spots in the shortest period of time. The system offers options to be fitted with a wide range of filters, UV and visible lighting options. This enables users to work with Coomassie Blue, silver stain, SYPRO® Ruby, Pro-Q® Diamond, Deep Purple™ and CY ™ dyes with the RGB module.
Karen Chan, Product Specialist at Insta Bioanalytik Pte Ltd, commented, “It's a great opportunity for us to work with SMART Centre and even more wonderful that their choice is Syngene. MIT is well-known for its advancement in science and technology and we are very proud that Dyversity 6 has been chosen to be one of the research tools in the institute.”
