Fortis Technologies Launches New BIO HPLC and UHPLC Columns

10 Sept 2012

Fortis Technologies is expanding its current range of liquid chromatography products by launching its new Fortis BIO HPLC and UHPLC columns into the market.

The new columns are based on a new 300A silica matrix and the phases are designed specifically for bioanalysis of peptides and proteins, where a larger pore size is required to provide retention and selectivity. Using the same underlying silica template as its current HPLC and UHPLC particles, the new pore size and stationary phases have been optimized in order to accommodate the larger molecules within bioanalysis.

Available as an analytical particle, Fortis BIO is also available as a 1.7um particle for use in ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC). The UHPLC particle allows increased sensitivity to be achieved, in the region of 50%. The resolution of critical compounds is also greatly improved, with samples such as those for peptide mapping being particularly enhanced.

“Fortis Technologies is proud to include this series of columns to its ever increasing line-up, now increasing the ability for the laboratory to improve its separations with the very latest in HPLC and UHPLC technology” stated Mark Woodruff the Sales and Marketing Director. “We are providing solutions in a growth area of chromatography which is in line with our company philosophy of the finest solutions and support for our customers requirements”
