Freeman to exhibit FT4 and present paper at WCPT5
21 Feb 2006At the 5th World Congress on Particle Technology (April 23-27, 2006; Orlando, Florida), Freeman Technology will exhibit the FT4 Powder Rheometer – its fully automated universal powder tester for comprehensive and discriminating characterization of powder flowability.
The company’s Managing Director, Reg Freeman, will present a paper at the conference discussing the use of the FT4 to determine the effect of flow additives on two types of starch.
In addition to determining the optimum level of additive for each powder in a variety of flow regimes, Freeman’s paper reviews the impact that differing optimum levels may have as a powder transfers from one stage of a process to another, and discusses the compromise between, for example, optimising for storage in a bin and the discharge from it.
Information on powder flow properties provides a firm basis for informed decision making at every stage of powder processing – from material formulation, through specifying plant and processing conditions, to storage and transport of the finished product. The FT4 with its wide range of fully automated options allows simulation of complex process conditions and full investigation of the flow characteristics of a powder under a variety of conditions.
