The iBox® Explorer™2 Imaging Microscope enables brilliant resolution macro to micro technology for fluorescence in vivo animal imaging. The iBox Explorer provides breakthrough advances with dual lighting and software-controlled objectives for imaging of whole animals, tissue margins to individual cells. With the rapid and multiplexed fluorescence detection of tumors and micro metastasis, the iBox Explorer cleanly separates normal from cancer tissues via the cell's fluorescent signature. The system delivers optical configurations for seamless imaging through the magnification ranges. The leading-edge cooled CCD camera enables quick detection and high resolution image capture. A computer/touch screen monitor is loaded with the easy to use VisionWorks®LS software. The system features a BioLite™ Xe light source which provides brilliant illumination for multispectral fluorescent, visible and NIR excitation. The iBox Explorer is ideal system for applications including tumor shedding and angiogenesis, micro/macro metastases, tumor/host margins and interactions and primary tumor growth. Additionally, UVP offers the iBox® Scientia™ Imaging System which detects fluorescent proteins in whole animals for cancer research.

UVP, LLC has announced the release of the new GelMax™ Imager which is designed for fast, easy imaging of precast and mini gels. The GelMax accommodates a wide range of precast and mini gels up to 11.5 x 16cm in size. Illuminate, capture and analyze gels with this easy to use system. "The new GelMax precast and mini gel imager allows researchers to quickly achieve brilliant color, picture-perfect, publication-quality images in a small, simple package. With the increasing popularity of precast gels in the lab, the GelMax is the latest in a long line of gel/blot imaging innovations from UVP," reports Alexander Waluszko, Vice President of Marketing and Sales.

Easily illuminate gels in the GelMax with multiple transillumination light sources for maximizing fluorophore stain excitation. Midrange 302nm UV is conveniently built into the unit to view ethidium bromide and other stains. The modular design enables placement of interchangeable Samples Plates onto the UV. The Plates convert midrange UV to specific wavelengths for a variety of applications. The Visi-Blue™ Sample Plate converts the UV to 460-470nm blue light for viewing stains such as SYBR Green, SYBR Safe and GelGreen. When white light transillumination is required for viewing gels such as Coomassie Blue and Silver stain, the White Light Sample Plate can be used. Longwave 365nm UV can be achieved by using the Longwave Sample Plate which reduces photonicking of gels. A Black Sample Plate allows for placement of samples not requiring transillumination. Store the plates in the convenient plate holder when plates are not in use.

The GelMax simplifies imaging with the intuitive workflow-based software. Easy to use one-touch buttons enable fast image capture. The intuitive software effortlessly controls the high resolution color camera which captures brilliant publication-quality images. Researchers can generate extensive quantitative analysis results using molecular weight, histograms, lane profile graphs and other tools. Quickly export data to Excel and other programs for documentation and publication.

With its compact size, the Imager reduces lab bench space requirements. The GelMax is the only truly plug and play precast and mini gel imager, requiring no user training. Its efficient design enables researchers to easily view gels using multiple light sources, quickly capture and save publication-quality images and analyze lanes and bands. It is the only gel imager researchers will need for fluorescent, colorimetric and blue light imaging of precast and mini gels.

The new ChemiDoc-It®TS2 Imager enables quick and simple image capture with the touch of the screen. The integrated computer, touch screen and exclusive capture software simplify workflow for imaging of chemiluminescent, fluorescent and colorimetric gels and blots. Users can simply click the Live Preview button to immediately see an image sample. The built-in computer creates a networkable, stand-alone system. Researchers can easily save images to a USB stick or transfer to a network computer for further analysis or documentation. Users of the new ChemiDoc-ItTS2 can optimize gel and chemiluminescent blot imaging with the highly sensitive megapixel resolution, cooled CCD camera. View low light samples in the light-tight darkroom which creates an optimum environment for chemiluminescent blots. Select components as required for specific applications. The modular design allows selection of UV transilluminator, emission filters, LED white light plate, epi UV modules and BioLite MultiSpectral Light Source.

UVP’s BioImaging Systems include the BioSpectrum® Imaging System with the new MegaCam 810 scientific grade CCD camera. Achieve enhanced image capture with the MegaCam 810's dynamic 8.1 megapixel high resolution and high sensitivity capabilities. Researchers can capture not only fluorescence gel images, they can also be assured camera sensitivity and efficient ultra-cooled technology permits superior capture of chemiluminescent western blots. The system is configured with VisionWorksLS software which allows easy navigation with simple one-touch controls for dynamic capture and extensive quantitative analysis. The automated configuration allows selection of multiple UV, white and blue light sources as well as control of the motorized platform. The emission filters, positioned in a motorized five-position filter tray, include EtBr, SYBR Green and SYBR Gold filters as standard. Additional filters are available. The system capabilities can be expanded to multiplex western blot imaging by adding a BioLiteTM MultiSpectral Light Source to enable excitation of a wide range of stains.

UVP will also feature additional BioImaging Systems including the GelDoc-It® series imagers for high resolution gel imaging and analysis. Select from imagers with a built-in computer/touch screen or an external computer/monitor. Perform basic gel documentation with the BioDoc-It® Imaging System, a compact stand-alone unit with built-in touch screen.
