Gold Inlet Base Seals for Agilent Split/Splitless Injection Ports

1 Mar 2007

Phenomenex introduces high-quality replacement inlet base seals for Agilent GC split/splitless injection ports.

These precision-machined, low-cost seals reduce the need for cleaning and reuse, saving time and money. The seals are gold plated, thereby providing exceptional inertness to highly active compounds, and offer better sealing properties than conventional uncoated steel versions. Two types are available: single-groove and double-groove, depending on injection mode.

  • For all Agilent GC 5890/6890 split/splitless injection ports
  • Guaranteed replacement to equivalent Agilent part numbers

Background: In Agilent split/splitless injection ports, the inlet seal sits at the base of the injector. Non-volatile residues, septum fragments, and other contaminates dirty this inlet seal, which can severely degrade chromatographic performance. The result can be analyte adsorption and breakdown as well as higher background noise, degraded quantitation and reproducibility. To avoid these problems this seal should be frequently replaced. Gold plating provides exceptional inertness to active compounds such pesticides, PCBs, phenols, and sulfur compounds and others encountered in environmental, toxicological, and other difficult GC samples.
