As a part of a mission to advance the power of SPE, Horizon Technology proudly introduces a new 47mm Solid Phase Extraction Disk optimized for automating EPA Method 8270. The new Atlantic™ 8270 disk incorporates a unique chemistry blend that will capture a broad range of semi-volatile organic compounds.

Used in conjunction with Horizon’s automated Sample Extraction System (SPE-DEX® 4790) this disk saves time, labor and money by shortening the entire extraction process by eliminating the necessity for base adjustment of the sample.

The new SPE disk simplifies the EPA 8270 Method by eliminating the collection of the acidified water sample after passing through the SPE disk and eliminating adjustment of the pH of the collected sample to pH 12. Additionally, doing away with the formation of insoluble metal hydroxides that can severely slow the flow of the sample through the disk. Finally, the basified sample does not need to go through the disk a second time.

At Pittcon 2011 Horizon Technology will have sample preparation equipment and accessories on display as well as the complete range of disk technology.

Oral and poster presentation titles, dates and locations can be found in the Pittcon 2011 program and also on the Horizon Technology media and events page.
