Indica Labs, a leading provider of computational pathology software and services has announced that it has received the top award in the Albuquerque Journal ‘Flying 40’ analysis of technology firms in New Mexico. Indica Labs participated in the Flying 40 for the first time in 2022 and received the top honor based on a 323% increase in revenue over the past 5 years. In that same time period, the number of employees increased approximately fourfold, from 21 to 83.

Indica Labs has grown organically since its inception 11 years ago,” commented Steven Hashagen, CEO at Indica Labs. “We were fortunate to see increased demand for digital pathology software and services throughout the pandemic, and that enabled us to continue to grow our team here in the US and to continue to expand globally — in the UK, throughout Europe as well as in China and Japan.”

Dr. Kate Lillard, CSO at Indica Labs added, “Indica Labs has been profitable and has grown every year since 2011, regularly exceeding annual growth targets without the need for external investment. Among biotechnology start-ups, we know this is incredibly unusual and is a point of pride for us. The pandemic has been an anxious period for individuals and businesses alike and Indica Labs is no exception. While we did not expect growth during this period, the need for remote working solutions allowed many institutions to accelerate the adoption of digital pathology software like those offered by Indica Labs. Even now as the pandemic winds down, the outlook for this industry remains exceptionally bright and we are excited to be a part of it.”

In addition to the Flying 40 award, Indica Labs was also awarded a Top Workplaces award by the Albuquerque Journal in 2020 and 2021 and was the sole recipient of the Work/Life Flexibility Award in 2021.

Proudly headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Indica Labs is in its 11th year of business and offers employment opportunities to scientists, IT professionals, software developers, and engineers around the world. The company continues to grow, with new positions currently available in Clinical Applications and Sales, Product Management, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Marketing, Pharma Services, and Technical Solutions.
