Scientists prepare to travel to Atlanta for the 2015 AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo

The 2015 AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo is to be held at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, USA

American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) AACC is a global scientific and medical professional organization dedicated to clinical laboratory science and its application to healthcare. The organization helps lab professionals adapt to change and do what they do best: provide vital insight and guidance so patients get the care they need.

At the end of July, healthcare professionals from around the world with gather in Atlanta, GA, for the 2015 AACC Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo. This is the leading event for laboratory medicine worldwide and is the place where breakthrough innovations in clinical testing and patient care are introduced to the healthcare community.

With more than 400 educational sessions covering subjects including personalized medicine, infectious diseases and laboratory developed tests, this year's meeting promises to be the most exciting yet.

Mini-tracks

New this year is mini-tracks, which will enable attendees to concentrate their learning in eight dynamic areas of laboratory medicine practice:

Clinical lab expo

More than 700 companies are exhibiting at the Clinical Lab Expo, the world's largest exposition for clinical laboratory products and services.

Highlights from the Expo include:

  • New Product Showcase – learn about brand new products by accessing information online, in print and at interactive digital exhibits while at the meeting.
  • OEM Pavilion – a specialty section of the exhibit hall, featuring more than 100 companies that provide OEM products and services.
  • OEM Lecture Series Theater – convenient 20-minute presentations allowing attendees to learn about the latest technologies and services.
  • Industry Workshop Theaters and Hotel Industry Workshops – 60-minute sessions within the exhibition hall hosting eight industry workshop presentations on topics from troponin and myocardial infarction testing to infectious disease and autoimmune diagnostics.

Posters

Ground-breaking research abstracts from scientists around the world will be displayed as posters in the poster hall. Learn about cutting-edge science in the field of laboratory medicine. This is a highlight of the AACC Annual Meeting not to be missed!

Be part of the AACC troponin project

Attendees at this year's meeting will have the unique opportunity to participate in a groundbreaking AACC project; the establishment of a bank of serum/plasma samples from healthy adults to enable a direct comparison of the 99th percentile between troponin assays.

Volunteers will donate six tubes of blood onsite. All samples are de-identified at the time of collection, and donors receive a $20 voucher redeemable at the AACC Store in the convention center.
