Biosearch Technologies, a part of LGC’s Diagnostics and Genomics division and a global leader in life sciences, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Genolution, a leading Korean-based molecular diagnostics and automation company, to enable LGC’s sbeadexTM Lightning nucleic acid purification chemistry on Genolution’s Nextractor® NX-Duo (NX-Duo) automated platform across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, Canada, and Latin America.

The collaboration combines LGC’s sbeadex Lightning magnetic bead-based chemistry with the NX-Duo’s automated design to deliver a robust, flexible and scalable solution for high-efficiency nucleic acid purification. The partnership will support agrigenomic laboratories and molecular breeders seeking to improve efficiency, increase throughput, and obtain high-quality DNA across diverse sample types.

“By combining LGC’s innovative sbeadex Lightning technology with Genolution’s user-friendly automation, we’ve created a fast and intuitive system that streamlines nucleic acid purification,” said Thomas Winkelmueller, Product Manager, LGC Diagnostics & Genomics. “Our goal is to help customers accelerate plant research and molecular breeding workflows, delivering the highest quality DNA in a fraction of the time.”

“Partnering with LGC expands the performance and versatility of the NX-Duo platform,” said Minlee Kim, Ph.D. CTO, Genolution. “Together, we’re delivering a fit-for-purpose solution to meet growing demand in agrigenomics.”

The NX-Duo platform, known for its flexible throughput ease of use, will be fully adapted to support sbeadex Lightning chemistry in a ready-to-use fully kitted solution. Customers will benefit from faster processing times, pre-filled plates that reduce hands-on time, and improved reproducibility, without compromising on DNA quality.

LGC and Genolution share commitment to provide reliable, scalable, and quality tools to the global agricultural genomics research sector. Field evaluation and commercialisation activities by Genolution commenced in the second half of 2025.
