Millipore Corporation has introduced Millitrack™, a web graphical user interface software tool for Millipore water purification system users. The new software enables long-term electronic archiving of water quality records, as well as remote access to a water purification system for real-time remote monitoring.

In the interest of full traceability, Millitrack software allows users to save monitoring data from their water purification system on a long-term basis, including resistivity/conductivity measurements, TOC levels, and system parameters. Records that are archived and indexed using Millitrack software can also be exported to a database file that has a data management tool, e.g., LIMS, ECM/SDMS, or ELN.

“Millitrack software streamlines data storage and control,” says Eric Beguec, Millipore worldwide service and validation product marketing manager. “Currently, water purification system water quality data can only be printed out and filed in a lab notebook. With Millitrack software, scientists store water quality data, and then access or print this information when they want to—now and in the future,” Beguec added. In addition to data storage, the new software also allows for remote access. In today’s labs, research and administrative areas are often located in different parts of a facility.

Once Millitrack software is installed, a lab manager is able to leave the “wet lab” space where the water purification system is located and then continue monitoring water quality data from an office computer—while simultaneously keeping an eye on other projects. Millitrack software is designed for use with Milli-Q® Integral, Milli-Q Direct, Milli-Q Reference, and Elix® Advantage water purification systems.
