Millipore Corporation has introduced the new Milli-Q Reference water purification system. The system is the latest addition to a newly redesigned line of water purification tools to meet today’s lab water needs for analytical and life science research. It was introduced at the Pittcon® lab product exposition being held in Chicago, Illinois.

The Milli-Q Reference system delivers ultrapure (Type I) water customized to fit a broad range of research areas while conserving laboratory resources such as time and space.

“Scientists today are often operating in fast paced laboratories with limited space, yet they still they need to deliver high quality results that meet regulatory standards,” observed Jean-Francois Pilette, Group Product Manager for Millipore’s Lab Water Systems. “The Milli-Q Reference system makes ultrapure water conveniently available in any laboratory, regardless of the space limitations or the stringency of regulatory norms.”

The Milli-Q Reference system incorporates a new purification strategy combines initial purification of Type II feed water with individualized final purification. Depending on their application, scientists can install a variety of available polishing cartridges to remove specific contaminants at the point of delivery. A graphic screen clearly displays water quality and system status. In addition, users can automatically fill laboratory containers with the desired amount of water using the accurate, hands-free volumetric dispensing function.

Minimal maintenance of the Milli-Q Reference system saves researchers even more time. With easily replaceable cartridges, a long-lasting UV lamp and timely service alerts, the system runs smoothly with nominal downtime. As with any Millipore water purification system, a comprehensive range of service programs are available to install, maintain, validate, and calibrate the Milli-Q Reference system. The result is uninterrupted water quality that conforms to standards set by ASTM®, ISO® 3696, CLSI®, USP®, and EP.

The Milli-Q Reference system is the latest addition to Millipore’s newly redesigned line of water purification tools. The recently launched Elix® Advantage system delivers the best in pure (Type II) water, while Millipore’s premier ultrapure water systems remain the Milli-Q Integral and Milli-Q Advantage. With 40 years experience, Millipore remains a leader in laboratory water purification products and services.
