Dionex expands its line of ProSwift® monolithic HPLC columns with the introduction of the ProSwift RP-4H reversed-phase columns designed for fast, high-resolution HPLC and LC-MS separations of complex protein mixtures.

These monolithic columns deliver the outstanding resolving power of nonporous media combined with faster separations then bead-based columns. Their low backpressures allow use of high flow rates for faster chromatographic separations while maintaining high-resolution capabilities. In addition, ProSwift reversed-phase columns have exceptional reproducibility, pH stability, and high stringent wash compatibility, allowing for longer column lifetimes than silica based columns.

The ProSwift RP-4H column is available in 1 mm i.d × 50 mm and 1 mm i.d × 250 mm formats. The smaller diameter of these columns not only saves sample and reduces solvent usage, but also increases mass sensitivity compared to 4.6 mm i.d. columns. The 50 mm columns are ideal for high-throughput applications, while the 250 mm columns provide increased resolution. Both column formats can be used on standard or micro HPLC systems, and allow flow rates that make them ideal as second-dimension LC columns for direct flow into a mass spectrometer.
