Syngene, a world-leading manufacturer of image analysis solutions, is delighted to announce its next generation DigiGenius budget gel documentation system, is now available. The upgraded system provides a high resolution fully computer controlled camera, allowing molecular biologists to quickly and easily view images in real time on any computer.

The DigiGenius system consists of the latest 10 mega pixel camera that can separate even the closest band images. The camera can also be linked via an interface which comes as standard with the DigiGenius to a PC or Mac. This ensures researchers can fully automate the camera’s set up and image capture to rapidly record PC and Mac compatible images to either a Flash Card or computer, thus saving time and effort with gel documentation.

The DigiGenius is designed to be flexible and is built according to researcher’s specifications. Users can choose to add fully compatible components to the basic system such as a UV transilluminator, white or blue light conversion screens. It comes with a safety hood upgradeable to full mini darkroom as well as Syngene’s industry leading GeneTools image analysis software and means the DigiGenius is cost-effective for laboratories that want an easy method of upgrading when their applications or budget changes.

Laura Sullivan, Syngene’s Divisional Manager commented: “Many molecular biologists now see computer control of basic gel documentation systems as a must so we are delighted to respond, by offering this time saving feature in our new DigiGenius. As well as being simple to use, the system also produces high quality gel images; this makes the DigiGenius an excellent choice for cost-conscious laboratories that need an inexpensive or dedicated gel documentation method.”
