New Digital Ultrasonic Cleaner to Help Solve Problems in Sample Prep

The Elmasonic versatile ultrasonic cleaner "P" series from Tovatech helps researchers find the most efficient processes for mixing, dissolving and dispersing operations where procedures have yet to be developed.

"The P series ultrasonic cleaner is the answer to time-consuming trial and error process development that otherwise could involve several ultrasonic units," says Tovatech Director Dr. Robert Sandor. "The reason is their dual-frequency operation and variable power controls together with normal, pulse, sweep, and degas functions. Along with temperature and time controls they provide researchers multiple testing options as they seek standard operating procedures for a particular product."

Available with cavitation-resistant stainless steel tank capacities from 1 to 7.5 gallons the Elma P series ultrasonic cleaners give users multiple options for sample preparation and equipment cleaning. These include:
• Selecting 37 kHz and the "normal" mode for mixing, dissolving and dispersing samples under various time, power and temperature conditions or for general ultrasonic cleaning
• Activating the degas mode for HPLC samples and solvents or to degas new cleaning solutions
• Selecting 80 kHz for delicate cleaning or removing soils from small orifices such as capillary tubes
• An auto-switchover between 37 kHz and 80 kHz at 30-second intervals
• Activating the Pulse mode for a 20% burst in power to remove stubborn deposits
• Adjust the operating power from 3% to 100% depending on needs
• Using the Sweep function for uniform distribution of ultrasonic cavitation and to avoid potential streaking of highly finished parts.
• Auto switch off after 12 hours of continuous operation or if the solution reaches 90°C (194°F).
